There is a very good introduction to the Chancery Court (oddly missing from the Modern Library edition which otherwise uses the same base text and contains the same annotations if you need a hardback edition), some helpful primary documents about some of the topics that inform the novel, and (like all Norton Critical Editions) a small sampling of excerpts from critical essays (usually several decades old) which are sometimes interesting, but almost always superseded by more recent scholarship. You have a great gift for writing - it appears effortless ("appears" being the crucial word - what Byron called `sprezzatura' - he coined an Italian word for he felt the English just didn't know or display the quality the word connoted - the concealment of hard work to produce something which appears effortless) and I was both compelled to read on and delighted by your sharpness of perception, your sense of humour and self depracatory tendency to send yourself up which is a very attractive quality in a writer. In addition, "All the Presidents' Bankers" speaks to human nature and the persistent patterns it takes when attached to opportunism and fear. Great Bible set, one of the best I've come across. The book is brief (about a 100 pages), gives a great introduction on how to approach prayer, and finishes with some helpful appendices on praying with power and effectiveness.
